At Psalm68Five, our commitment to supporting Christian camps goes beyond providing resources; it's about equipping camp ministry professionals with the tools they need to make a lasting impact. That's why we partnered with Angel Tree to offer free Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) training for our partner camps.
The training, which took place at the beautiful Wildwood Hills Ranch in St. Charles, Iowa, was attended by over 55 camp ministry professionals. The three-phase training aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of trauma, its holistic impact on the body, soul, and spirit of our campers, and the healing interventions of TBRI.
Phase 1: Understanding Trauma and TBRI Strategies
The first phase delved into understanding trauma and how TBRI strategies can effectively address its impact. Participants gained insight into the principles of TBRI and its potential to bring healing.
Phase 2: Implementation and Troubleshooting
Phase two involved a deeper dive into the effective implementation of TBRI strategies. Camp professionals engaged in troubleshooting sessions, tackling tough questions, and finding solutions to challenging situations.
Phase 3: Developing Implementation Plans
In the final phase, participants developed concrete plans to implement TBRI principles at their respective camps. With the understanding that camps often rely on a revolving door of volunteers, the training focused on creating a sustainable rhythm for TBRI implementation.
Matt Moeckl, the executive director of Wildwood Hills, not only hosted the training but also shared insights into the transformation he has witnessed among campers.
When participants were asked to rate the training's effectiveness for their ministry on a scale of one to ten, the average rating was an impressive 9.2. Moreover, when asked about the importance of having a staff member trained in TBRI, the average score was an overwhelming 9.5.
The success of this training reinforces our belief in the power of equipping ministry professionals with the tools they need to make a difference. We are grateful for our partnership with Angel Tree and look forward to continuing to support Christian camps in their mission to impact the lives of children and families.
Join us in empowering more Christian camps to create environments of healing, hope, and transformation. Together, we can make a difference.
